maylands - kissing man's house
the balcony at kirkham house was a good place to sit with your binoculars. i had a pair for me and a pair for tim. usually we'd look at the river for a bit. then we'd see what our neighbours were doing.
up the road was a big modern house with a gigantic window and an even bigger television. theyd always be watching some hogwash on the free-to-air. but one time when it was just me on the balcony, i saw their telly was off and the lights were dimmed, and against the gold light was two silhouettes. the two figures got closer together until i saw the outlines of both their 3-shaped lips press together. the pressed and unpressed a while and then they closed the blinds.
that is the only time i have misused my binoculars.
