maylands - double g heaven
between matt's house and the house of the swan is a long winding corridor that weaves between a couple dozen backyards.
the corridor is filled with trash and weeds, and your shoes will get covered in terrifying prickles called double g's- natures cattle trops, strong enough to burst a car tire.
i cannot find a good picture of them, but the Perth band Feast of Snakes features the plant on the borders of their album cover:
when i first discovered this corridor filled with spikes, it was the most magical feeling in the world, like something from a murakami novel.
